This is an exciting moment in CEPR’s almost 40-year history, as we have recently opened a Paris office, supported by a consortium of French public and private sector institutions, and are in the process of expanding our activities in France and therefore, the team.

3-month remunerated internship position
€1,000 gross per month
Starting date: 5 September 2022 preferred
Reports to the Head of Digital Strategy and Dissemination

Location: Paris | Primary working language: English

Internship Objectives
As part of CEPR's growth, we are designing several internships to support the different departments at CEPR with their increased output. Although initially this position will include a number of more routine tasks, we are expanding the team to allow opportunities to develop new ways of ensuring our dissemination is targeted, effective and up to date. You will develop skills that are useful in a wide range of communications and media roles. In particular, you will gain hands-on experience in:
  ●  Communicating newly published economic research to a specialist audience and making it accessible to a broader audience
  ●  Identifying where our existing content can be repromoted in the light of relevant current affairs
  ●  Working with a range of social media channels and social media scheduling software
  ●  Content management across multiple websites
  ●  Looking for new ways to disseminate our activities across French (and European in general) media
  ●  Using the Adobe Creative Cloud software suite
  ●  Using Google Analytics, Mailchimp
  ●  Working with databases and CRM systems
  ●  Preparation and presentation of reports
  ●  Connecting across teams in the organisation to ensure seamless dissemination of all our activities

Person Specification
We are looking for a creative, organised and self-motivated individual full of ideas and with a keen interest in digital communication and economics and able to manage their own time and workload, sticking to tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy under pressure. We are looking for someone to become an integral part of a growing team in an expanding organisation and ready to bring some fresh suggestions to the table.

In addition, you will:
Essential:
  ●  Be a (recent) graduate in economics or very similar with a genuine interest in the communication of economics to a wider audience
  ●  A good level of competence in the standard MS Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint
  ●  An excellent standard of written English, with the ability to proof-read both your own writing and that of others
  ●  Great attention to detail and an organised approach towards managing and completing tasks
  ●  Ability to take the initiative and work autonomously when required, but also recognising when to ask for help or advice
  ●  Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team and build relationships with colleagues situated in different locations
  ●  Have the right to work in the EU, with the ability to undertake restriction-free travel (including to the UK)
Desirable:
  ●  Some experience with Adobe products (Illustrator and InDesign preferred)
  ●  Interest in and experience of social media - especially Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube
  ●  Some experience in preparing graphics for social media with for e.g., Adobe Express, Adobe Illustrator/ Photoshop, Canva
  ●  Some experience with newsletter preparation in Mailchimp or similar
  ●  Be proficient in French (preferred), with other European language(s) a plus

Internship Objectives
As part of this growth, we are designing several internships to support the different departments at CEPR with their increased output. The Projects Intern will gain hands-on experience with the administrative running of CEPR’s various projects. Under the supervision of the Head of Projects, you will provide assistance to the projects team with the management of all CEPR’s donor-funded projects. In particular, you will learn to, and assist with:
  ●  The drafting of documents such as research contracts and contract addendums
  ●  Processing payments and raising invoices
  ●  Updating the project database and various project websites
  ●  Attending project events, including supporting online meetings
  ●  Proofreading documents such as reports or website content
  ●  Drafting newsletters and communications
  ●  Assisting with annual project reports
  ●  Formatting various documents including research notes and papers
  ●  Researching new funding opportunities
  ●  Working on one long-term project

Person Specification
We are seeking a bright and enthusiastic individual, with excellent administrative and organisational skills. Relevant experience in project and budget management is highly desirable.

In addition, you will have:
  ●  A (recent) university degree
  ●  Skills in building and sustaining relationships with researchers and funding bodies
  ●  Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hectic and rapidly changing environment and particularly to deadlines
  ●  Excellent interpersonal communication skills and teamwork skills
  ●  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  ●  High degree of familiarity with the MS Office suite, particularly using Excel
  ●  Knowledge of working with financial reporting systems and financial administration
  ●  Budgetary management skills
  ●  Excellent written and spoken English, and in particular, experience with drafting documents such as project proposals, project reports, as well as various forms of correspondence relating to research contracts
  ●  Proficiency in French (written and spoken) preferred. Other European language(s) a plus
  ●  Right to work in the EU and ability to undertake restriction-free travel (including to the UK) is essential
